Celebrate the opening of Ai Weiwei: Bare Life and the reopening of the Kemper Art Museum following a major expansion and renovation as part of Washington University’s East End Transformation.

From noon to 2 pm, join student educators at selected artworks in the exhibition to learn more about the art.

At 3 pm, Associate Curator Meredith Malone leads a tour of the newly expanded permanent collection galleries. Please arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start of the tour. Our tours can accommodate groups of twenty, but we encourage you to check-in at the Welcome Desk to secure your place.

Timed Exhibition Entry

Due to space constraints in the exhibition galleries, we strongly recommend reserving a time to see Ai Weiwei: Bare Life prior to the opening. Make your reservation below.

#Humanity Video Project

Visitors are invited to record themselves reading excerpts from Humanity, Ai Weiwei’s book of reflections on the global refugee crisis. The Museum will share select videos on social media and incorporate them into a compilation that will play on-site.
